Seriously. Quad exhausts are for cars that are fast, loud, and hardcore. The loudest thing about these is the screaming preschoolers in the back seats.

Wrong.
The loudest things about these are the screaming preschoolers being accidentally run over by their mother.
See y’all in Hell.

I remember several years ago when the inexplicable dual exhausts started showing up on everything. Then you look under the car and see it’s just a split right before the mufflers, nothing more. What a waste of space.
And don’t even get me started on how small the exhaust pipes are on a dual or quad setup. The tips are like polished penis extensions. I’m more a fan of the Dolphin School of penile comparison. Keep that shit hidden.

YES. This always bothers me when I see one. Same thing goes to those older Maximas with quad exhausts.

At least the Maximas are semi-quick. But yeah they are a close runner up.

At least it’s a semi-performance sedan.

I had a 2014 rental altima with the 2.5 4 cylinder and it inexplicably had 2 mufflers. You have one f**king bank of cylinders! It makes me more mad than it should.

%99 of cars and SUVs on the market are inappropriately equipped with dual exhaust.

My thoughts exactly. Can you even imagine the engineering meetings. “OK, sir, we’ve tuned the backpressure just right to ensure good torque in city driving, especially with the CVT. The top-end response should be unaffected and we...wait, what is this memo? Marketing? Customers want TWO mufflers and TWO exhaust pipes...on an inline four. I quit.”

IMHO anything with exhaust that comes through a single cat should have single exhaust(dual tip if you want). Otherwise you’re just adding weight.

Just gonna leave this here.

And the award for most inappropriate placement of factory dual exhausts goes to...

Exactly, reduced torque and pointless added weight. As someone who appreciates quality engineering it disappoints me that this is the new trend.

I get the joke, but it gets the “Most Inappropriate Use of Single Exit Exhaust” award.

My inline 6 has dual exhaust dude. Not saying the altima is properly designed, but multiple cylinder banks aren’t the only reason for multiple pipes.

It actually doesnt look that bad... My dad has a 2011 acadia and I kind of like it. Also The Exhaust tips are not fake but actually tied to the exhaust pipes unlike some other more expensive cars.

The only other reason for multiple exhaust is if each exhaust manifold covers 3 cylinders. I have never ever ever seen an inline four with a seperate exhaust manifold per two cylinders.

True; I agree. And you were incorrect about multiple banks.

Depends if there’s more restriction in the cats or the mufflers. I couldn’t say either way.
